Our recent work on the Harris Teaching School Alliance website reflects our insider knowledge of how to position and promote what makes this Federation so fantastic. A strong focus on branding, imagery, colour and calls to action all work together to ensure the site serves as a marketing tool for the teaching alliance. We’re so excited about the advertising banner that is revealed as visitors scroll down the page – this is a really engaging way to promote the leadership programmes available. Programmes and courses can be booked directly on the site, adding measurable value, whilst the ‘Pathways’ section is a great visual guide to the journey an aspiring teacher’s career could take if they join the Harris Teaching School Alliance.
Bourne Education Trust
“94% of Bourne Education Trust employees feel that leaders support staff improvement.” That’s the headline that instantly grabs the attention of any prospective staff members who visit the new trust website. The clever use of a bold, colourful banner on the homepage acts as a recruitment tool, with powerful messages broadcast across the entire width of the screen. And that’s only the beginning. For families considering sending their children to member schools, the live Twitter feed on the homepage gives a sense of how many exciting and engaging activities are on offer to students.
Within the Bourne Education Trust network, the newly launched Everest Community Academy website presents a similar look and feel to the trust site, but wholly unique content. A key highlight of this academy website is the ‘School Ambassadors’ panel, which highlights up to six students or staff members talking about why they love this super school. The ‘School Life’ feed shows off the latest activities that students are enjoying, fed directly from the school’s active Twitter page.

Well, the Haverstock School website does – and the result is an inspiring visual feast! Inspiration follows throughout the website, with wonderful content backed by a fresh and modern design, to make this stunning school site stand out from the rest. In this case, Haverstock School are proud to showcase their students’ success as they’ve appeared not once, but twice on the national news – an impressive introduction to the calibre of pupils who attend the school.
WPA Education Welfare Services
When it comes to school websites, there are limitless features and formats you can choose to show off your school. In this case, WPA have utilised some very clever techniques to encourage visitors to find out about the services they offer and the value they provide to schools and families. The first thing website visitors notice is the large circular call to action box design, which has been used in varying sizes and locations on the homepage. These circles are managed from the website’s content management system (CMS) so the content within them can be edited at any time. A range of services is shown in a similar circular design placed horizontally across the homepage, so anyone can click on and view each service on offer. We love the prominent contact form that appears at the footer of every page on the site, making it easy for anyone to get in touch and find out more about how WPA can help their school.
SFCA (Sixth Form Colleges Association)
The humble hexagon – just one of a few unique design features that place the SFCA website in a class of its own. The minute your mouse moves on the homepage, the website begins to come alive. This interactivity is what encourages visitors to spend time exploring the site and finding out about the array of services on offer. Latest news from the SFCA is displayed in a rotating content and image carousel right at the top of the homepage and visitors are encouraged to delve into the homepage further with a scrolling ‘Explore’ button. The hexagons make another appearance on the fantastic ‘What we do‘ page, which is a graphical representation of how each arm of the SFCA works together to support, champion and strengthen Sixth Form colleges across the country.

A school of this exceptional standard needs a website that presents the strength of their brand and heritage, as well as their mission to help students become happy, successful and useful citizens. The new school website delivers on all counts. The school logo sits behind the beautiful homepage header video, keeping the brand front of mind as a visitor arrives at the website. Students’ opinions matter and are showcased on the homepage via the ‘What students say’ panel, and in an inspirational video on the ‘Why choose Wymondham College‘ page. A live Twitter feed on the homepage shares current news, while the announcements pop-up message can be used to share time critical or important messages with parents, without the need for emails.
