Flickr is a brilliant online platform to share and organise your school photos. Follow our clever guide to setting up a Flickr account and join the 51 million worldwide users.
To setup a Flickr account, visit Flickr and select the “Sign Up” button in the top right hand corner of the site.
Next step – enter your personal details.
Flickr will then buzz over an activation key to your email address, it’s now time to create your account!
Check your personal details and amend your “Flickr screen name” (we suggest you use your Twitter handle).
Your account is set up, it’s now time to get uploading!
To do so click on the upload button (cloud icon) in the top right hand corner of the site.
You can now either drag and drop your photos from your machine or select the “Choose photos and videos to upload” option.
Once you have uploaded a photo, there are some different options you can apply:
- Tags: Can help you and users searching to quickly find a photo, e.g. School name, Location, Sixth Form, 2017…
- People: You can add people to a photo, similar to a Facebook tag. Please ensure you are familiar with your school’s safeguarding, data and social media policy before tagging photos.
- Albums: You can group similar photos together and share them in one album, just like a traditional photo album.
- Groups: This can be used to share the photo to a certain group of users.
Time to share!
Once you have uploaded all of your photos, you are free to share the photos on your website, Facebook or Twitter. Click on the share button to give you several options to share the photos.
