Vimeo is a fantastic video sharing platform, a great place to share your school’s promotional videos on a professional and ad-free site. Follow our clever guide to setting up your very own Vimeo account today.
Visit the Vimeo website and click on the “join” button in the top right hand corner of the screen.
A pop-up will appear where you can then either log in with your school’s Facebook account or fill in your details.
If you chose to sign up with an email address, you will then be required to confirm the email address in your inbox. We always recommend you use a generic school email address rather than a personal one.
Now that you are logged in and set up, you can start uploading videos to your account!
In your dashboard on the right hand side you will see the “Upload a video” option.
The next step is to then either drag and drop the files from your PC, or click on the “Choose files to upload” button to search your machine, simple!
Remember to select the relevant privacy options. You will probably wish to keep it on the default “Anyone can see this video”, making your video visible to the public.
You may wish to disable comments in your video settings.
Whilst Vimeo is uploading and processing your video you are free to add a title, description and apply tags (helping users to find your video). Once complete, hit “Save”.
Once the video has been uploaded you are then free to watch and share the video!
To share, click on the paper aeroplane icon.
Once selected you can then use several different options to share (e.g. share to social media, email or embed). Embed will be used to add directly into your own website.
